An escape from the pace of the city to a place where time seems to have stood still, the fresh air smells of flowers, and the mountains of the Imagna Valley are the first thing you see when looking out of the window.
The Miramontino project concerns the renovation and interior design of the new Miramontino Mountain Suite, a small hospitality structure set in the heart of Rota d’Imagna. The Gritti family, already owners of the Hotel Resort & Spa Miramonti, repurchased after 60 years the building that once housed the old Albergo Miramonti and involved us in this project to help give the property new life.
The Miramontino project also involved our work on the hotel logo. For its creation, we drew inspiration from the natural setting of the hotel, especially the mountains of the Imagna Valley and their jagged peaks.
The final result recalls the peaks of two mountains, but also the letter “M”, the initial of Miramontino Mountain Suite, whose soft, sinuous lines suggest an idea of luxury and lightness.
The interior design follows the same idea of sobriety expressed by the exterior.
The main entrance is minimal and orderly. Here we created an area dedicated to self check-in with a suspended sideboard in neutral tones. To give the space character, we applied wallpaper with a print that recalls the lush woods of this mountain area.
On each floor we inserted built-in wardrobes for storing linen and any technical material: a solution that combines aesthetics and functionality.
For Miramontino Mountain Suite, we designed four intimate and spacious suites.
Every element was developed with meticulous attention to form, materials and craftsmanship: wardrobes with integrated LED lighting and custom wooden walk-in closets with refined finishes, herbal-tea corners, private bathrooms with freestanding bathtubs and walk-in showers, and private terraces equipped with whirlpool tubs overlooking the mountains.
Here too, the concept of each suite was inspired by the natural element, particularly the colours of Orobic Arabescato marble, an extremely precious stone characterised by fascinating multicoloured veins. We therefore created a custom moodboard to make every room unique.
For the Cafe suite, we selected natural shades ranging from dove grey to dark brown, giving it a relaxing atmosphere. The oak boiserie recalls mountain atmospheres, while the bed headboard includes shelving, a smart solution that also makes use of vertical space.
The Ivoire suite, by contrast, features lighter furnishings with golden accents in the decorative elements, lighting and wallpaper, giving it an elegant and bright appearance. Upon entering, the different material combinations immediately catch the eye, from the travertine table to the fluted wooden boiserie, adding depth to the room and creating a feeling of lightness and fluidity.
The Suite Rouge has a stronger colour palette ranging from white to burgundy, giving it a sophisticated atmosphere. The undisputed protagonist is the bed with circular base, an unusual element with a contemporary and enveloping soul. The exposed wooden beams recall typical mountain homes, while the red wardrobe gives the room an elegant charm.
Finally, the Noir suite is a room with an essential mood, distinguished by darker colours ranging from light grey to black. This room features a small niche where guests can relax and read a book. The large terrace, partly covered by a pergola, allows guests to admire the mountain panorama in all its splendour.
For the design of the spa area, we focused on guests’ wellbeing, integrating solutions to guarantee maximum comfort and relaxation.
At the entrance, guests are welcomed by the large pool with Calacatta marble columns, whose whiteness contrasts with the anthracite grey slate walls and the dark green of the room.
We divided the space into two areas, placing a wellness area with shower to the right of the entrance, while on the left we created a more spacious relaxation area, with upholstered suspended loungers where guests can lie down and rest. Here we also inserted a contemporary steam fireplace, warming the atmosphere and making it more welcoming.
Finally, we inserted a built-in wardrobe for towels, with a shelf for food and drinks and an integrated water dispenser.
The large sliding glass windows flood the space with light and allow guests direct access to the outdoor garden.
