Le Torri Suites Project

The balance between past
e present

Among the picturesque streets of Citta Alta, the ancient medieval village of Bergamo, one can still breathe an atmosphere from another time. It is precisely among these cobbled streets, surrounded by splendid monuments and ancient towers, that the B&B Le Torri Suites is located.

The Le Torri Suites project consists of converting a private apartment into an accommodation facility, followed by its interior design. The concept is based on the idea of mixing ancient and modern elements: the clients wanted to enhance the existing architectural features so that guests could immerse themselves in the history of the B&B. At the same time, they wanted to guarantee a comfortable and luxurious stay through the use of modern furniture and furnishings.

The Studio

The B&B Le Torri Suites was created inside a historic residence in the heart of Citta Alta. During the design phase, following the change of use of the property, we therefore had to take into account the many constraints and regulations that apply to this type of building. Nevertheless, through plasterboard partitions we were able to create an entrance and three suites equipped with every comfort.

The Name

Choosing the name for an accommodation facility is a crucial moment because it helps define its identity. Starting from the clients’ desire to keep the history of the building alive and communicate it both outside and inside, and taking inspiration from the Torre del Gombito, a historic defensive structure dating back to the 12th century whose perimeter wall borders that of the B&B, we felt that Le Torri Suites was the perfect name.

The Interior

The decision to create a mix between ancient and modern, in line with the clients’ request, allowed us to give the B&B a unique style, differentiating it from other hotels and accommodation facilities nearby. The furniture and furnishings we selected have an elegant, minimal appearance, with sober and clean lines that communicate order, concreteness and formal clarity. This concept is already perceptible from the elegant entrance of the B&B, which includes an equipped space for guest check-in.

The ceilings of the suites are characterised by beams and original wooden floors; the latter were sanded and then painted in natural colours to bring their beauty back to light.

Each suite has a well-defined identity that distinguishes it from the others, with furnishings, claddings and colours coordinated according to the moodboards we developed for each one. For the first suite, we chose furnishings in neutral, delicate tones, enriching the space with refined design objects to give it a sophisticated look. In the wall that preserved the sandstone masonry, we created a small niche for relaxing or reading. The bathroom also follows the mood chosen for the room, with elements in travertine and oak.

The second suite has a more youthful style, with chromatic tones moving from green to grey. The wallpaper selected for the wall behind the headboard helps give the room an elegant touch.

Finally, the third suite has a more refined charm, with dominant burgundy and brown tones that help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. In this room, we applied a floral-print wallpaper inside the private bathroom to give it a more sumptuous appearance.

To make guests feel at home and guarantee maximum comfort, we equipped all suites with a minibar, TV, safe and herbal-tea corner with kettle.
