Industrial style draws inspiration from old disused New York warehouses of the 1950s converted into lofts, and quickly won over design lovers thanks to its timeless atmospheres and strong personality.
The client of the Steel project was also struck by the charm of this style, so much so that he turned to our design studio to create his new industrial-style kitchen.
The Steel project saw us working on the design and creation of a custom-made industrial-style kitchen. The elements that most characterise this style are the use of resistant materials with a raw appearance, giving the space a unique character. Starting from the client’s request for a kitchen equipped with every comfort, our interior designers chose steel and wood as the preferred materials.
To make use of every centimetre of the room, our team chose to arrange the kitchen across several walls. At the centre of the room we positioned a large island in hot-rolled vibrated laminated steel, equipped with hob, sink, several internal compartments and empty areas where stools can be recessed. The choice of steel reflects the natural light entering through the large windows, helping amplify the space. The fully retractable automatic hood integrated into the top is the focal point of the work surface: a clean and essential area, barely interrupted by the integrated sink and hob.
Behind the island, we created a built-in wardrobe whose folding front doors were made in lacquered wood with a liquid-metal finish, maintaining stylistic consistency with the island. The cabinet includes Gaggenau appliances, a wine cellar and numerous shelves for storing objects and tools. We also created an additional unit with sink in front of one of the glazed surfaces, so that the owner can enjoy every meal while taking in the beautiful view outside at any time of day. This is not a common snack counter: the beauty of the solution lies in the attention given to the custom-made unit, designed specifically to enhance a structural feature of the room, defined by large double-height glazed surfaces with minimal wooden profiles by Carminati.
The two main materials, steel and wood, dialogue within the space, alternating and enhancing one another.
Opposite the island block is the dining area, composed of a table with wooden top and metal structure, paired with large and comfortable seats for welcoming guests. To complete the project, Carminati Interiors also designed and supplied the shading structure for the external terrace, a distinctive element that defines the villa facade, giving it a contemporary and decidedly more industrial appearance.
