Furnishing a new home is an exciting process because it marks the beginning of a new life and the realisation of a dream. However, it requires commitment and energy that are not always available, with the risk of making hasty decisions and mistakes. To avoid unpleasant consequences, the client of the Space project contacted us to design and organise the interiors of her new apartment.
The furnishings, characterised by a modern style and neutral, relaxing colours, were chosen together with our team and designed to measure so that they would fit each room perfectly, creating a sense of fluidity and connection between the different spaces.
The project concerns the design and furnishing of a newly built apartment. After carefully listening to the client’s requests, who wanted contemporary furnishings made with quality materials that would last over time and require little maintenance, our experts studied the different rooms of the home, analysing their dimensions and lighting. We then proposed a moodboard aligned with her requests. Most of the furniture was custom-made by our internal woodworking department, so that it would adapt perfectly to the floor plan of the home.
As soon as one crosses the threshold of the apartment, one enters the bright open-plan living area composed of living room and kitchen. The focal element is certainly the equipped wall in the living area, made by our cabinetmakers, consisting of a fluted wooden boiserie in sage green, a calming shade that brings the space to life. The wall includes compartments with shelves for small objects, a recessed area for the television, and a sliding door that provides access to the sleeping area, with ventilation holes above it concealing the air duct grille.
The kitchen is small but well equipped, characterised by an L-shaped layout plus a small island. The kitchen tops were made in black porcelain stoneware with light veining for a more sophisticated look. Above the kitchen we installed two shelves with integrated lighting, using the vertical space functionally. On the back of the island counter, we installed a panel of wooden slats that echoes the same motif as the equipped wall, creating continuity.
Passing through the hallway behind the living room door, one reaches the sleeping area, composed of a child’s bedroom, a master bedroom with private bathroom and a laundry room. Wall wardrobes were also inserted in the hallway, making use of a space that would otherwise be merely transitional.
In the master bedroom we created a custom-made matte blue wardrobe with groove handles, covering the entire wall of the room. The same colour was also used for part of the wardrobe and shelves in the child’s bedroom, creating continuity between the two rooms. For the child’s room, our woodworking department also made the desk and shelves in lacquered walnut wood. For the private bathroom we chose a washbasin with a fluted design, echoing the motif used in the living area, and light-toned porcelain stoneware walls to create a greater sense of spaciousness.
Overall, the play of textures, materials and colours we created helps form a coherent and functional environment, integrating every room perfectly through intelligent and creative solutions.
