Project Le Torri Suites
Balancing Past and Present
Among the picturesque streets of Città Alta, the ancient medieval borough of Bergamo, an atmosphere from a bygone era still lingers today. In the midst of these cobblestone streets, surrounded by splendid monuments and historic towers, stands the B&B Le Torri Suites.
The project B&B Le Torri Suites involves converting a private apartment into a hospitality venue, with careful attention to its interior design.
The concept is based on the idea of blending old and new elements: the clients wished to enhance the original architectural features to allow their guests to immerse themselves in the history of the B&B. At the same time, they wanted to ensure a comfortable and luxurious stay by incorporating modern furniture and fittings.

The Design Process
The B&B Le Torri Suites is housed within a historic residence in the heart of Città Alta.
Therefore, during the design phase, following the change of the building’s use, we had to carefully consider the numerous restrictions and regulations applicable to this type of property.
Nevertheless, through the use of drywall partitions, we were able to create an entrance area and three suites, each equipped with every modern comfort.

The name
Choosing a name for a hospitality establishment is a crucial moment as it helps define its identity.
Starting from the clients’ desire to keep the history of the building alive and communicate it both externally and internally, and inspired by the Gombito Tower—a historic defensive tower dating back to the 12th century whose perimeter wall adjoins that of the B&B—we felt that Le Torri Suites was the perfect fit.

The interiors
The decision to create a mix of old and new, in line with the client’s request, allowed us to give the B&B a unique style, setting it apart from other hotels and hospitality venues in the area.
The furniture and fittings we selected have an elegant and minimalist look with sleek, clean lines that convey a sense of order, solidity, and formal clarity. This concept is evident from the elegant entrance of the B&B, which includes a dedicated space for guest check-in.
The ceilings in the suites feature exposed beams, and the original wooden floors have been sanded and then finished with natural-colored varnishes to bring out their beauty.

Each suite has its own distinct identity that sets it apart from the others, with furnishings, coverings, and colors coordinated according to the mood boards we developed for each room.
For the first suite, we chose neutral and soft tones, enriching the space with carefully selected designer objects to give it a sophisticated look. In the wall that preserved the sandstone masonry, we carved out a small niche for relaxation or reading. The bathroom is also in harmony with the suite’s mood, featuring travertine and oak elements.
For the second suite, we opted for a more youthful style, with color tones ranging from green to gray. The wallpaper we selected for the wall behind the bed’s headboard adds an elegant touch to the environment.
Finally, the third suite has a more refined charm, with dominant colors of burgundy and brown that contribute to creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. In this room, we applied floral-patterned wallpaper to the headboard wall to give it a more opulent appearance.
To make guests feel at home and ensure maximum comfort, all suites are equipped with a minibar, TV, safe, and a refreshment corner with a kettle.
